Reward for slapping Kok increased to RM1,200

KUALA LUMPUR: A group calling itself the Council of Islamic NGOs today staged a ‘bloody’ protest against Pakatan Rakyat leaders for allegedly insulting the Malays, Islam and the King.
Members of the council slaughtered chickens and smeared blood from the animals on a banner which had images of opposition leaders.
The protest took place near Puduraya.
Their anger was specifically targeted at DAP’s Seputeh MP Teresa Kok who is in trouble in recent days for her political satire video called ‘Onederful Malaysia CNY 2014′.
The group also offered financial reward of RM500 for anyone who would slap Kok and provide photographic evidence of their action.
This was later increased to RM1,200.
Group leader Zulkfli Sharif was quoted as saying in The Malaysian Insider that the RM1,200 offer was open to anyone who can slap Kok.
“But they must provide a picture to claim the RM1,200,” he was reported to have said.
The news portal also said the offer was increased from RM500 to RM1,200 after the protesters numbering about 50 collected the amount among themselves
Other leaders in the banner were Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang and Machang Bubuk PKR assemblyman Lee Khai Loon.
Apart from smearing chicken blood on the banner, the group also stomped on the ‘faces’ of the leaders. Some even used a broomstick to smack on the images of the leaders in the banner.
Lee was recently in the news for organising a mob-rally in which kangkung was ‘fed’ to an effigy of Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak.
Yesterday Kok lodged a police report over threats issued to her following her video.
In another development, Kok Lanas state assemblyman Md Alwi Che Ahmad today lodged a police report over an allegation that he had defamed Kok.
Md Alwi made the report at the Kota Baharu district police headquarters at 3pm, saying he had done so to protect himself over a police report made by Kok claiming that she had been threatened via SMS and WhatsApp.
Kota Baharu OCPD ACP Azham Othman confirmed that Md Alwi had made such a report.

DAP demands stern action
Kok meanwhile has said that she would be lodging a police report against the protesting group tomorrow morning over their “despicable and provocative actions”.
Her party colleague, Gobind Singh Deo, who is also the MP for Puchong, said the actions of the Muslim NGO were “shameful, irresponsible and provocative”.
He added that their open threat made against the elected representatives should not be allowed to go unpunished.
“We demand that the police take stern action against these persons immediately. They have clearly committed acts criminal in nature and they must be dealt with accordingly.
“Both the Home Minister and IGP must get tough and rise to the front to put down groups like these who openly advocate violence,” he said.
He also said that apart from lodging police reports tomorrow, the party will also seek urgent audience with the Home Minister and the IGP over the matter as soon as possible.
PKR’s communications director Fahmi Fadzil also slammed the protesters for festering racial hatred and showing extremist behaviour.
“The offer of reward for anyone who can slap the Seputeh MP (Teresa Kok) is a serious matter which the police must investigate,” he said.
He added the Najib administration must admonish the protesters’ provocative actions.
